Well seeing as the foot sloggers have their own thread, only right and proper that the horsey types have their own too.

Your starter for ten

Sir John Meldrum's RoH

Great work, I'm rather envious  :D

Radar

Thanks Mike. To be brutally honest I'm sick of the sight of ECW horse at the moment. Meldrum's is the first of nine units to come off the painting table this month. Latest three are part way through the basing process. Think I might paint some foot next as a prize for painting variations on the theme of brown.

Colonel Kilgore

Nice work as usual, Radar, and an equally interesting blog entry. Thank you for sharing the fruits of your research and painting labours.

Radar

Thanks Martin, pretty much a straight out of the bag unit. A couple of headswaps, nothing too major.

Colonel Kilgore

Those don't look too shoddy either.
How many shades of brown on this little lot?

Radar

Thanks, at least 12. Stopped counting tbh, as it is always 'a lot'. ;)

Like the figures. The head swops give some individuality to units too. Jolly good. :)

Radar

Thanks Martin, I much prefer the poses of pistol+helmet pack, even the shooting sideways fellow. They lend themselves nicely to head swapping.

In between visiting Naseby 375 museum exhibitions, and Sealed Knot fisticuffs, there's the latest Parliamentarian troop of horse. Major Gunter's Troop, Earl of Essex's RoH. Regimental history, more pics, usual nonsense at https://www.keepyourpowderdry.co.uk/2020/01/earl-of-essexs-regiment-of-horse-major.html

And to wet your appetite

Colonel Kilgore

They look like a suitably grim and fun-hating bunch - very nice!

Radar

Thanks Colonel, here's another.
