Thanks. Just beetling along. I'll get there when I get there. Might never get there, wherever 'there' is.  ;)

Actually  'there' is currently  a Parliamentarian and a Royalist force each consisting of: 9 x 34 man regiments of foot; 1 x 24 man unit of firelocks,; 2 x 21 man units of dragoons; 12 x 16 man regiments of horse; 4 x light guns, 1 x medium gun, 1 x heavy gun (each gun has a limber); 7 x assorted wagons for a baggage train; an assault party (1 pack of petards/grenadoes); command of 7 generals, a dog and a preacher. Each unit to have a casualty marker with dead person. At the moment the Solemn League is just a token force of 3 regiments of foot and some generals, there should be cavalry eventually, but no command pack in the range (yet). Add to that twenty something buildings, dry stone walls, hedges, trees, rivers and roads, a village full of civilians and plague doctors...

Of course if new packs were to appear in range 20 I'm sure 'there' would move again

I am working on the new version of the M3 half tracks. They will be resin, but now will come with seated men and pulpit gunners with 50 cal   MGs.

How are the montagnards coming along.

I thought the premier projet was Western rules.

Leman (Andy)

Prussian infantry for Walter Schnaffs. Hoping to get this to Phalanx this year.

My pre-Salute challenge is complete. Greenery to be added to final foot regiment tonight. Still got all my fingers.

All that and a full set of fingers too?! Very nice, and clearly worth the effort (the blood and pain will be forgotten once they've won their first fight....).

Once I had worked out how to drill the hands it was a lot easier. Sadly not straightforward drill vertically down jobs (if only). Did lose some skin when I managed to super glue myself to a paintbrush (not exactly sure how that happened, threw the brush away, big chunk of skin stuck to it was a bit of a put off)

Leslie BT

Yep they do look good.
What's a bit of skin lost, no pain, no gain!

Seriously they do look good and the whole army will look excellent, with all the bells and whistles.

How have you been taking your pictures that you have been posting?

Radar

Thanks.
I tend to use my phone, just because it is handy. Plus I can upload to my blog really easily. The better pictures on my blog are usually taken with my DSLR with a macro lens. (They tend to be better posed, plus I can light the subject much more naturally under artificial lighting. Camera geeks it's a Pentax K3ii, 50mm macro with a Pentax flash bounced off the sloping ceiling.)

To be honest the cameras on smartphones are pretty darn good. The biggest hurdle with them is lighting.

Colonel Kilgore

Radar - thanks, that's useful. I have had poor results with a DSLR on a tripod, but guess it's due to my lack of a macro lens.

I too find a smartphone camera to be great, even in low light as there seems to be lots of idiot-proofing software built in!

Currently I am working on some Tjublings from Admiralty Miniatures. They are Swedish and the Tjublings are 15mm Chaos Dwarfs in a similar vein to the 28mm Citadel ones with big hats, but 15mm instead. The big hats make them taller!
Also I am working on some Ice Witch figures from Ral-partha in 15mm. They are slightly bigger than PP figures but not so much.
I am also painting a huge Colonial era British army, 2 redcoat units, 2 Highlander units, 2 Royal Engineers units, 1 dismounted camel corp, 1 logistics core each ten bases, a smattering of Maxim's, cannon, Gardner's, mules, a mounted load of camel corp and also horse cavalry. Loads to do!
A similar quantity of Beja tribesmen but I have not painted them as Mahdist forces as I am a little uncomfortable with the scripts and appearance of the era flags which seem to have a distinct similarity to some current ones from that general area that could be misconstrued and I don't want to be accused of anything remiss in downloading them to print out.

Been doing some more upgrading of my Spanish Civil War forces to the new rules. Just finished Civil Guard to add to my Spanish Foreign Legion, Carlist, International Brigade, Republican Army and Communist Militia. Assault Guards and Nationalist Army to go. Also just finished a ruined bridge objective copied from the new rules.

Hope Sean getting his wargame room finished.

Although it is my intention to complete my BEF force, I did have a go at one base of German infantry this morning, again as an experiment with colour combinations. This time I am working on a black base coat rather than burnt umber.

In many illustrations the German infantry trousers appear to be slightly darker than the jacket (at least in 1914). My reading also suggests that there was a greenish tinge to the field grey jacket. My experimentation led to mixing Vallejo green grey and light grey for the tunic and dark blue grey and light grey for the trousers. I also went for a beige, rather than grey, pickelhaub cover just to provide some variety. Will post of photo of the finished product in a few days to see what people think of the combo of colours.
