Hi everyone,

I was mulling over the following for troop types:

Militia - only standing figures; poor training no real concept of cover and concealment;

Regulars - standing and kneeling figures; they have better, but an imperfect understanding of cover and concealment;

Professional - kneeling and prone figures; they get it!

Very nice,  I like the General with the bunker :)

I assume they are for the new rules that are being play tested at the moment?

Hi Martin

Yes worth a read as are some of the other books - Sword Point, Bright Star and The Ten Thousand.

Also Fire Arrow by Franklin Allen Leib - M551's being delivered by LAPES...

Could I ask, how many bases of infantry per side were used?

I feel the Dogs of War, the better film, the book is also great read.

Perhaps with the new AK Rules, perhaps some new figures although based on the book and not the film; some figures with MP40's and bolt action rifles.

Howard

Ps: that said in the film, Derek with the M60 would make a great character figure!

While I am not involved in the testing of the rules, perhaps some slight distinction in Armour types would be helpful and in the spirit of the previous rules.

Heavy Armour is tracked - better cross country movement;

Light Armour is wheeled - better road movement etc

It also does seem that the rules are going to very much work with what you have got and infantry centric.  That in my personal view is more representative of what is trying to be simulated.  Warfare is very 'much a come as you are affair', no commander ever has everything they need, and the trick is to make the best of what you have got.  Especially so in the 'AK' world.

Thinking of transport options... will cavalry be included in the new rules?

An  invitation was sent out to all ,which gave us 14 play testers.
Howard, are you joining in the play testing?  Not compulsory of course.

martin :)

Hi Martin, thank you for the kind invitation, but unfortunately, I am not able to assist; at the moment 'life' is getting in the way  :(

Hi everyone,

When the original draft rules were released, it was 3 Units of 7 bases, plus support options, roughly as I understood it 40ish infantry bases per army?

Is that correct, as I am going to be ordering some extra figures.

Hi Martin,

Very interesting :)

I think there is an error in the Points list - the extra third infantry unit should cost 2 points and not 3? The example is correct the list isn't?

I am going to have to order some more infantry... ::)
