Well as the title states I have started working on my War of the Roses project. I plan on trying bloody barons when I get enough toys but there are various stages/rules which work before that - mainly DBA (which I have now), and ADLG (getting close to that size with these).

Here is a pic of the Lancastrian DBA army -the detailed pics are here: https://mellis1644.wordpress.com/2022/06/16/war-of-the-roses-lancastrian-dba-part-2/ and here: https://mellis1644.wordpress.com/2022/06/10/war-of-the-roses-lancastrian-dba-army-part-1/

This is to join my previous Yorkist army shown below - and in older posts as I did this a few years ago:

These are Essex DBA army packs but there is loads of PP figs show as I work on this project.

I do like the look of those, some of which are Essex figures I am familiar with, but others I'm not sure of. I like the way those border cavalry have been modelled.

I have added my third DBA army for the period. So I now have Yorkist, Lancastrians and the rebel army of Henry Tudor.

You've spotted that Neil's used inferior castings though, Martin?  ;D

Slowly my work on War of the Roses stuff continues. This time there are I believe some PP mini's and definitely some flags.

They look ready for action. This really is a great period to develop as a project. When you get to play Bloody Barons I'm sure you'll enjoy it as the grid system, coupled with the use of the three battles. really gives a feel for the period.

Lovely figures there. You are certainly making excellent progress with the proect. I do have to have little diversions now and then to keep myself fresh and restore focus.

mellis1644

Thanks and yeah I have to have diversions. Often into different scales and styles. I do the same gaming wise and as I'm playing Blood Bowl at present, I now want to the 15mm armies on the table for game...

Leman (Andy)

Will you be playing eight bases to a unit, with each base counting as a half base?

mellis1644

Yes that's my plan - so a DBx base is a half base. That seems to be the best way to have a multiple use force.

I even have (somewhere in the to do pile/cupboards) some multi-bases - 160mm by 40mm so I can move a unit at a time without having to do each unit.
