Yes, I think the map was left out in the sun! Although, there are some pretty inhospitable regions to the north west - think Khyber Pass!

Sean,
The usually relaxed after-dinner chat over port and cigars at my club in Pall Mall tonight was marred  by the lack of news of our young Royal. His foolishly reckless trip to uMbongo to highlight the illegal ivory trade has caused some concern amongst the old Africa hands as he seems to have dropped off t new radar. In fact the Palace is now denying the Prince has ever set foot in uMbongo.
No-one could confirm it but rumours abound of an airlift of dedicated fighting men from another colonial location to uMbongo. There primary objective is expected to be to locate the Prince and ensure his safe extraction to UK. This may also be merely a pretext to enter the country.
If the civil war erupts in this troubled nation as many believe, it is uncertain if this group of loyal ex-soldiers will fight for or against the Government.
Message ends.

Fear not, Bob Sneedling from the BBC is doing what he can to firm up the news around this incident.

Mbongan State Television is reporting that the UK Ambassador has been called to the Parliament to discuss Anglo-Bongan relations and to account for apparent backing of the opposition leader, Xander Jones, who has not been seen since his arrest 3 days ago.

Anyone seen this game being payed?
Mike

Didn't see it, but it looks great. I'm sure a similar scenario could be played using AK47.

Reports from various press associations and sources close to Dr Chumbowumbos administration are saying that he has left the Presidential Palace, taking with him a substantial amount of belongings and most of the gold reserve.

These reports are as yet unsubstantiated. Chumbowumbo hasn't been seen in public since the arrest of opposition leader, Xander Jones on embezzlement charges.

Chumbowumbo's brother, Derek Chumbowumbo, has been seen in the grounds of the Palace, in the company of security officers talking frantically into his cell phone. It is known that relationship between the two has been fractious over the years and took a turn for the worst when the President removed Derek from his role as Finance Minister, offering him Ambassadorship in nearby Logosia. Since the relationship between those two countries has been on a war footing for years, many think this amounted to a sentence to death for the younger brother.

The fact Derek declined the offer, and there are now confirmed sightings of him within the grounds of the Palace means speculation is rife as to who holds the reins of power within uMbongo at this time

Well the Government's of the G20 will let you "local peasants" pretend to pass the ruling of the country about as if it's a game of "IT" amongst yourselves for so long....
Eventually the "UN" will come and place their "Rules and Regulations" upon the country properly then a Western or Eastern Government (whoever can bribe there way in the quickest ?) will empower a "puppet government" they can "trust" to run the country properly for the good of the "people"
There are too many Valuable Minerals and other Materials this country can provide for use in modern day world, for a lot of profit, sorry good for the global economy.....
You have been warned.

Latest headlines from uMbongo.

Xander Jones has been released from police custody without charge. He is understood to be preparing a statement for the press.

Martin Chumbo(wumbo) remains missing. Initially it was thought he had fled the country. Other rumours were that he had entered the Sierra Leone Open Golf Championship under a pseudonym. Whichever it is he seems to have left the country in a state of uncertainty as campaigning begins to ramp up prior to the elections.

The UN are insisting a Peace Keeping force is allowed into the country to quell tensions, particularly in outlying towns and villages. Rumours continue to circulate that Special Forces and Mercenary groups are active in the North and that weapons are being stockpiled in preparation for an uprising.

Derek Chumbo seems to have assumed the role of Acting President in the absence of his brother. He is due to welcome a state visit from King Swayo of Namibia later this week which seems to have excited everyone. The streets of Kalubya are bedecked with uMbongoan flags and hunting and the Street Santitation and Cleanliness department have been making nightly sweeps to ensure all is spick and span prior to the Kings arrival.

This has been a quiet period for opposition leaders and opponents of Dr Chumbo, with little heard from the likes of Papa Whisky and the so called 'Colonel' Kurtz. Whilst most outside of uMbongo will see this as a good sign, locals are more fearful, quoting the the old Go'an proverb of 'it is the quiet dog one should fear the most, for he is planning your downfall with every passing second.'

More news as we get it.

******NEWS FLASH******

Sources from Downing Street have denied that they prime minister had to be re-assured this morning that uMbongo is not a real African state, after a leak stated that BJ was heard muttering "that things are going from bad to worse for my old school friend Chummy". It was said that the news from uMbongo had quite spoilt the prime minister's egg soldiers.

 Sean,
(FYEO)
Border Agency officer "X" has passed on intelligence that three ex-service personnel with known affiliations to a mercenary group have left the UK for South Africa.  This brings the total of such departures to 32 over that last week including a private charter from a regional airport.
All UK airports and ports continue to be watched.

This is not good news for Antony Vegan's investment in Africa. Vegan Enterprises. I think he is talking to am old pal of his Mr Wakeman of GOB (Grumpy Old Brits) about sending a delegation of his Organisation into the Country and see what is occurring and protect Vegan Enterprise's flourishing projects and assets ?
A Vegan is very concerned at the moment. He is awaiting news from top level personnel Mr R Wakeman and Mr V Meldrew. A military detachment has been put on stand by, commanded by Colonel "Wolfie" Smith, they might even be in the country as we speak ?
We are waiting to hear wether GOB's Military department TPF have troops on the ground ?
We are also waiting to hear from Sky TV's Jeff Dunham and his team Walter and Achmed, but we hear there is a Suicide Bomber in the area so news broadcasts are being delayed, I know Walter is not a happy man....
