Being sensible (unusual for me)and looking ahead I don't think the social distancing is going to change much for the rest of the year and even if it does it will take time to win peoples confidence back.
So I think the best thing is to cancel the wargames show this year and plan for next year (Sat 10th July). Please spread the word.

Take care hope and to see you next year,

Stewart

Sorry to hear that Stuart, especially given the work you have put into organising the show. I agree with your decision, given where we are at the moment and the time left until the show.

Look forward to next year, and thanks for taking the show forward.

Keep safe.

Thanks for the update, Stewart - that does sound eminently sensible.

Best of luck with the 2021 show organisation!

Yes I agree with all of the above.
Can I have a 6x4 table for next year please ? With an extra 2-3 ft for space and set up extra.
PBI factory game 1945 or 46?

Very sad Stewart after all the work you put into it.
I am sure the "boat can be righted" for 2021.

Stewart,
Well done for rescuing the show. Let's all hope Covid  will be seen as a minor set-back in the long term.

Stewart, sorry to hear that the show has been cancelled, I hope that you can save some of the stuff done for this years show for use in 2021.

You'll be able to get the new game ready for Beachhead 2021!

I hope that you and your family are all keeping well.

The Bovington Show would have been a week tomorrow.

The wargames event clearly would not have been possible, but I found it ironic to receive an email today announcing the re-opening of the museum to the public from this coming Monday.

I think it will take time for the public confidence to grow before shows can be profitable

Hope that you enjoy your vist Simon, with the family.

I think Beach Head in Bournemouth will be the first convention I shall consider.
Maybe end of September 2020  is the time to start making long term considerations.
I personally do not intend to be gaming until at least the end of August 2020 at the moment (unsure about this???)

Given all the uncertainties at the moment, have made the decision not to take part in any gaming outside the house this year! Will see what happens over the winter period and the possibilities of a second peak, before making any calls on 2021.
Ben and I have invested in some new scenery,  a good selection of PBI armies, and are playing a couple of games a week. Dieppe is a game being planned for next year, with Canadians, Commandos and a sprinkle of Rangers, not sure how this will play as normal or one side PBI.

Keep safe.

Having a built in opponent is a great boon in times of pandemic. Wish I'd thought of it years ago 😆
