..and yes the regiment with the yellow saltaire *will* have their basing altered to match all the others. Not sure what happened there

Leman (Andy)

With things like basing it is easy to forget exactly how a look was achieved. I have taken to writing down my basing colours for my various armies.

Was it something like 'burnt umber' instead of 'raw umber' as the base colour....?  I've mixed up my 'umbers' with similar effect before now 🥴 .

These are terrific, Radar! It's been a while since I last looked in on the forum and it was well worth it today.

Hey, Westie - feel free to pop along more often :)

We're always looking for comment and content - both for the Forum and The Mill magazine - all (polite) contributions are very much welcomed.

Thanks all.

The base? Absolutely no idea. Chestnut paint instead of chestnut ink is my best guess mistake. Nuln oil to the rescue perhaps (it saves everything else)?

Oh noes! There's a few Royalist and Parliamentarian foot and horse suffering from the same affliction. Fingers crossed for the nuln oil test, otherwise it'll just be easier to rebase completely.

Leman (Andy)

You need to do it very carefully otherwise you risk flock absorption of the ink or wash.

Radar

First few bases look promising. Nuln oil has darkened everything, where it is too black and where existing flock has become discoloured a little fresh flock seems to hide a multitude of sins.

the Scots have a small baggage train now (ssh! Not PP figs, but match nicely)

Nice nags - where did they come from?
