Lots of Scots Covenanters coming off the painting table shortly... and the first to come off are <drum roll>

Sir Arthur Erskine of Scotscraig's Regiment of Foot

To find out why they are wearing black, and a brief regimental history (and some more pics) pop over to https://www.keepyourpowderdry.co.uk/2019/05/the-ministers-regiment.html

Colonel Kilgore

That's a nice-looking unit, Radar, and I enjoyed reading the historical rationale on your blog. Thank you for sharing.

Radar

Thanks Colonel. Next up some harquebusiers with lots of headswaps

You are a glutton for punishment - mind those fingers!

Radar

Many thanks Leman.

Blu-Tac is your friend when headswapping and drilling hands out. Makes holding figures much more comfortable, stops stuff sliding around on the cutting mat, plus puts a buffer zone between fingers and sharp pointy things.

The worst is yet to come Fraser's Dragoons - every single one getting a blew bonnet.

Radar

Some Scots harquebusiers. Think they might be my favourite unit due to all the headswaps.

Next up two units of lancers, then the dragoons (who are all now sporting Scots bonnets).

Colonel Kilgore

Hey - stop it - you make me feel very inadequate!

Very very nice, Radar - thanks for sharing.

Radar

Thanks.
I know that the last unit to be painted is usually my de facto 'favourite and best', but I think this one might take some shifting from that position.

martin goddard

Those really are lovely. Good artistry!

Radar

Many thanks Martin, really enjoyed painting these

Leman (Andy)

Lovely looking cavalry units.

Radar

Thanks Leman.
Here's some more lancers...

The Earl of Leven's

Captain Arthur Forbes

Particularly nice unit.

Thanks. just putting the finishing touches to Fraser's dragoons. Hopefully they'll be based tomorrow.(Not much work on at the moment)
