In a break from lots of Regiments of Horse I give you Colonel James Holborne's RoF

A few headswaps and an outing for the officer from the Mill gamette.

Here's a Regiment of Foot to start your Monday (and take your mind off Covid19 for a nanosecond). Regimental history and more pictures etc https://www.keepyourpowderdry.co.uk/2020/03/colonel-richard-bagots-regiment-of-foot.html

They do indeed look a pretty virus-resistant bunch. I do like the pointy sticks - they should keep people's sticky fingers off your figures!

Thank you Colonel.

A long time ago I deliberately oversized my pikes with the points, thinking I could trim the points off if I didn't like the look of them. I wasn't sure if the points would work, had to try them. I think they work quite well, I also quite like the pikes being slightly oversized - think it gives a good feel

So far, only drawn blood the one time.

Antioch (Bob)

Also have been admiring your work....love the unit look & all together they must be quite a sight.
Well done sir.

I used Dress makers pins for some of my medieval lances. Now those are sharpe and impale people (and me) with great easy. These look slightly less worry some than that.

Radar

I think because my pikes look sharp and dangerous, that they are given are wide berth/handled carefully. I imagine dress makers pins look fairly innocuous but pack a stealthy sharpness

Smoking gun

Lovely work, again. Very inspiring.

Today's regiment dates from the time of the Commonwealth: Colonel Charles Fairfax's.

Sadly run out of stuff to paint, revisiting some old units and researching them (and their COs). These had a picture and a brief line or two on the blog a couple of years ago. Keeps my brain ticking over in the current world in which we all exist in.

Posts that go 'live' on the blog on Mondays are newly finished units.

You lost me there. I have so much stuff to paint it feels a little overwhelming at present. Need to get on and clear things up. But really great unit though.
