Sean has led with "Viking Day"  at Entoyment on Saturday 9th February 2019. I will contact the shop to see if that is all free, but assume the games will take place at some location on that day!

Colonel Kilgore

Martin, that's a Friday - is that intentional?

Sean Clark

My first msitake....welo spotted Simon....sorry Martin!!!

9th February!

Sean Clark

Added to the calendar.

Martin and I will be there. Would be great to see as many as possible in attendance. I'm sure there are plenty of figures to share around if you don't have an army.

Colonel Kilgore

Well, if someone can lend me some figures and doesn't mind providing some coaching (I have had the rules since they came out, but have yet to play them - they look very similar to Vietnam to me, so I may bring a gunship...), I'm game!

I have a spare army  to lend out no problem.

The are many special things about Longships that need to be known. Here are a few that i had forgotten.
1. Fights are won on number of hits, not final casualties.  Thus you may lose more bases but still have won the fight. Fighting hard but suffering casualties.
2. Shield-wall is very important. Don't fight unless in shield-wall.
3. Units with 3 or more armoured bases are "superior" thus very potent.
4. Challenges are a good idea if you have the odds stacked in your favour (lethal, challenger etc).

If I am free I have two armies and a table set up

Sean Clark

Always good to refresh oneself on older rules. I'll be playing these over the coming weeks to become an acknowledged expert.

Vikings is really good. Have put this date in the calendar.

Sean Clark

Please do Rob. I need someone there win equally bad dice as me!

Rob R

If seven six out of, what was it, twelve? Then I could do with some of that.

I have no army also. I like Simons approach, i can bring a gunship too. C130 Spirit anyone ?  If someone has a spare army or someone sets up a table for those of us who don't play the game often. As Martin was edging me on to decide what to do, but not knowing the odds i had to make the wrong decisions !

martin goddard

I can do a spare army no problem. If miles or Simon want to get in touch with me we can arrange a game or two I am sure! We could play at Enjoyment all day. How about that.

martin goddard

There are other armies in the rule book too.

ie

Irish   More skirmishers. Bigger units.
Welsh. More skirmishers. Light horse. Extra manoeuvrability.
Carolingian (with cavalry). Good quality cavalry.
Scottish. Plenty of long spears and armoured.
