Just a few facts about  POE at the moment (!).


THE HEXAGON
In inches (cm).
Face to face= 4 inches/10.1 cm
Length of face= 2.3 inches/5.8cm
Corner to corner (inscribed circle diameter)=4.6 inches/11.7cm
Centre hex to next hex centre =4 inches/10.2 cms.


SHIP MODELS
In a game . minimum =5 maximum = 9

THE TABLE
44 hexagon perimeter.

NUMBER OF D6
16 per player. If you need more then re-use.

RELEASE DATE OF POE
February 2019(?)




Interesting?  Maybe there should be  a test at the end of each PP ruleset.  It would count toward a national mathematical qualification. PPMQ level 1.

This kind of thing is also a useful summary for playtesters (just in case things have changed - I believe this can happen sometimes....) and for those following from afar who are interested in seeing how the new game is progressing.

Probably worth pointing out too (as highlighted in Duncan's recent and excellent test game write-up) that the "5 to 9 ships in a game" are - unlike most of the RFCM rules - not necessarily a "fixed" force (i.e. ships can be upgraded / downgraded / added to rather than the normal depletion type of change), so players will need to produce a few extra vessels in case this sort of pre-game event affects them.

Agree Simon, I have  fleet of 16 being built, 2 large, 3 medium, 3 small merchant ship,
1 large, 2 medium, 5 small warships.

busy building my stuff, 1 sloop, 1 schonner, 2 Medium warships, i large warship. And 2 large merchant, 3 small merchant, 3 medium merchants.
All on bases with rowing boats towed behind.
Starting on the markers and the cloth has arrived.

I was tempted to put rowing boats on behind but I don't  have enough. I guess I could get some more though? Seems like a good idea.

Building:
Pirates, 1 x Large Warship. 2 Large ish warships, 1 medium Warship and 1 small warship.
Royal navy, 1 x Large Warship and 1 sloop.
Plus 4/5 small Brigs and sloops and HMS Victory !

As annoying as it is for those of us with a large and medium warship or eight I have in all my games so far never had the opportunity to use one, the pre game selections putting pay to that! 😭😢
I have found what is needed is about five or even six small ships like sloop etc to act as small warships! Then three medium merchants, three small merchants and two large merchants.
I just think it is worth saying that given my experience for those building large warfleets. Having said that if you are like me you will not care and will buildcwhat you want and like.
I will get to use my three large warships at some point I am certain of that, possibly not in the same game i am just not sure when! Still the joy is in  the modelling and  painting!😃

Brass rod for the flags. They might be a bit too long at the moment ? But its better they are too long than short ! Got to send off to minarions for them.

That is a whole lot of modelling there Miles. Impressive. Are they for the PBI game on Sunday?
