I have an explosion if you require it

Sean Clark

As in a l.e.d. light? Yes please!

Got them but have a  large crater to replace trench section

Sean Clark

I've got plenty of shell holes and a large crater for the Hawthorne redoubt....the led lights might be cool!

My room mate has decided not to come this year, so if anyone wants to stay that weekend I have a bed free.

Sean Clark

Here we have the units of 31st, 29th, 32nd and 36th Divisions waiting patiently to start the great offensive that is surely coming.  The bombardment continues for another few days yet by which time the enemey wire will be cut and these brave boys will be able to climb from their trenches and capture what is left of the German defenders. From Serre in the north to Thiepval and Ovillers in the south, the General expects little resistance to be met.

(just some grass to be added here and there to the bases.)

MGs, artillery crews (guns not pictured) and a few dead and half bases. The General does not expect we will be needing any of the dead figures, but they are painted just in case.

Gentlemen, zero hour approaches...

Well done Sean - that was a lot of work!

Let's hope that not too many of those casualties have to come out of the box.

Best of luck, and I really hope to be joining you all next year [had a family clash this year...].

Most impressive Sean.  Would you (or any pne) be available fora Cambrai re-fight on a 20 foot frontage next year at Nothe fort(weymouth)??  Just an idea at present.

Sean Clark

Count me in!!! I'd love to expand the Somme game to something huge!

Leslie BT

Good to see that your priorities are in order.

Sean Clark

The Hawthorne Redoubt crater.

Looks like the wire hasn't been cut afterall.

After 7 days of bombardment, there's not much left of Thiepval!

A German MG team in the ruins of a farmhouse.

Colonel Kilgore

Nice one Sean - all very grim and evocative.

Sean Clark

Can you tell I've got the  hang  of  posting pictures 😂

Colonel Kilgore

Very good - even adjusting the width, I see!
