Condolences to his family and those who knew him.
Always sad to lose a valued member of our wonderful hobby...

Loving the new WoTR characters!

I will surely be adding those to the collection very soon. Keep up the great work Martin.

I always prime my figures in a grey tone, and then go for the Nuln Oil wash afterwards.
That way I can see the details on the figure clearly, and the base colours go on smoothly.

I for one would hope for a number of the Neville family to put in an appearance.

A post-battle head-on-the-block vignette may also be called for...?

Simon

A second vote for a Neville or two, and throw in some Percy's too.
That should stoke the old rivalries in the north!

Martin,

Silliness aside, I am excited to see these character packs added to the lovely range.
Can we expect more characters and / or other additions to the WoTR range in the future?

Regards,
Simon.

Bloody Barons / Re: New character packs

Simon,

Are you saying that the men of the 1400s were also in colour?  I thought that came about in the 1950s or 60s.

I will have to start my monochrome troops all over again now.

Similarly to John, in order to do the maximum I could for the over all economy, I would have to invest in an external custom built hobby facility (i.e. man-shed).
From there I would install a table, aiming for 8x6 in dimension, to ensure that the usual detritus of gaming is kept off the battlefield.
Inevitably this table would have some for of storage capability beneath the surface too, so a solid wooden effort with vertical legs would be required.

Clearly, to ensure that opponents are suitably intimidated when "playing away from home", I would also adorn the walls of my hobby facility with art work and paraphinalia for the sides I have chosen to support in the field.

Baring all that, a time share on the kitchen table and a new roll up battlefield mat for Bloody Barons mk2 will do...

A man can dream, eh!

Wonderful edition, with some lovely paint work on display.

I had never heard of an electrostatic flock box before either.  A revelation!

Tabletop roleplaying, running two separate Warhammer Fantasy 4th Ed campaigns right now.
Amateur photography, mainly wildlife such as birds in my garden during lockdown.
Occasionally a board game or two.

General discussion / Re: The 3x3 base

I do like the look and feel of the 3x3 bases in the Bloody Barons rulebook, when you see whole units massed in wards.
As a new comer to the rules, and having already committed with several associates to use a 4x4 or 8x4 standard (with 6 / 12 figures respectively), I cant see myself going back and re-basing them.
However, having read the BB rules cover to cover twice this past week, I will certainly be trying them out with my slightly enlarged scale in the near future.

With this lockdown, she wont leave the house, and will therefore be able to scan all packages coming in!

I will try my hardest of course!

Lovely shots Leman.

I will add that seeing Kev's page is what gave me the idea to jump into 15mm for my Wars of the Roses, rather than flagellate myself over the wonderful, yet too large for me, Perry's collection...

There is a cheeky number 37 hanging about in the Wars of the Roses, without a picture or description too.

Oh the suspense!

Bob,

Apologies for the quality of the shots, but thought I would snap some WIP stuff I have of my own.

These are based for a 15mm take on the Lion Rampant rules I am play around with, so the Men at Arms are 6 figures on a 40x40mm base, while the Levy / Yeoman archers are 12 figures on a 80x40mm base.

Here we have a few key trouble makers in Salisbury, Warwick, Northumberland and Egremont.
I am not 100% sure myself on having a standard for every base of archers / levy troops, but likely will for all the Men at Arms and Billmen units I do.

All the best,
Simon.
