New character packs

The Bloody Barons range now has 4 character packs.

A character pack will have 4 figures in it.

1x character
2 x fighting men
1x standard bærer

There are 4 standard bearer poses and 4 fighting men poses.
They are chosen at random but that should still allow a lot of different options when a pack is bought. Thus, each character pack will not be the same as another.

The fighting and standard figures will only be available with the characters in order to keep them exclusive. I will see how that goes??

John and i have discussed the characters chosen.

Quite difficult to individualise the characters but I have used the information available.
I have used period photographs and video clips in battle to help out.

Hope you like them.
Pictures should be done in a day or three.

Sounds great, Martin, and I look forward to seeing the pictures.

I hope they are at least as successful as your wide range of ACW generals.

Good point about period photographs and video clips (presumably gun cameras?) which are, I feel, a very under-used resource from that epoch.

Sound good Next on my to do list after the Fallschirmjager

And I see that the first 4 named characters are up on the website for sale already!

Further to the nit-picking thread, do we need to clarify which battles each can / cannot be "legally" used in /and against whom when rivet-counters are at large?

I will try to  get some info written down as to which matches they played at

Colonel Kilgore

Excellent, Martin, that would indeed be helpful.

Please don't forget to note which precise shades of which colour were used in their flags / banners / standards / livery too - maybe best to specify the mix of fruits / animal by-products from which they were each produced, to ward off nit-pickers?

Oh, I thought they came with pri-painted flags so we get the colours correct and don't upset anybody at shows.

John Watson

Martin, I like the way you have photographed Edward IV in the fog at the start of the Battle of Barnet. A brilliant piece of marketing. Is there an extra charge for a packet of fog?
John

Colonel Kilgore

That's a good spot, John.

Maybe Martin should market the fog packs alongside his invisible Boers?

Perhaps this calls for a new Emperor's New Clothes mini-range?

Simon,

Are you saying that the men of the 1400s were also in colour?  I thought that came about in the 1950s or 60s.

I will have to start my monochrome troops all over again now.

Martin,

Silliness aside, I am excited to see these character packs added to the lovely range.
Can we expect more characters and / or other additions to the WoTR range in the future?

Regards,
Simon.

Apparently so, although as I believe Martin points out elsewhere, you can achieve a lot with black, white and a sepia ink :)

I for one would hope for a number of the Neville family to put in an appearance.

A post-battle head-on-the-block vignette may also be called for...?

This is a worrying development... I sense a new blog coming on featuring the WoTR, same format to my ECW one - battlefields, museums, and of course figures. Although I am easily distracted at the moment, struggling to put Queen Henrietta Maria's monogram on a trumpeter's banner; think it may get painted over and fleur de lys to replace it.

Must resist, must resist.

(As an aside, the character packs for ACW and now WoTR are cracking; any chance the ECW range could get something similar?)
