LeIG75mm , you know it , short stubby German infantry howitzer , wiggly gun shield , seen allot in early war.

well its been given a gun factor if 7 , 1 better than the 37mm ATG. - which makes you wonder why they didn't just put the LeIG in its anti-tank units if it was better than the anti-tank gun?

Because it wasn't , it had a 75mmHeat round for anti-tank that could penetrate 35-40mm of armour. which sounds good - unfortunately - and the rules don't take this into account (understandably) - it travels at 260m/s - so it takes 2 seconds to travel 500m - a tank moving at 20mph has travelled 20yds - 4 times its length - in that time.

the 37mm has a velocity of 760m/s and penetrates between 61-35mm upto 500m - one can see the difference.

In the old rules it was a gun factor 5 - still pretty good , its main thing is its HE2 of course as that's what it was for.

I like the architects book , a good idea , but the whole armour gun thing needs looking at, appreciate its constricted by sticking to a d6

Really HEAT rounds (including infantry AT - panzershreck 110m/s so 1 second to target 100m range!) should have a minus to hit  - probably need 9 to hit as a base. - but this is a Chrome rule.

this is not a gripe its an observation - love the rules (hate my dice) about to start on an early war blitzkrieg campaign - battle of Hannut.
