Far east would force me to buy and paint the 14th army something, I have been contemplating since the figures came out, I have a couple grants bought for that purpose. I have no scenery not sure what would be needed for Burma. I have had Fergal Keane's Road of Bones on my reading pile for a couple of years this should inspire some painting.
Otherwise it will be the good old Russians.

Yes I think it is worth nagging Miles again and again to do this jolly interesting area of "low tank"  warfare.  Most importantly it would give huge profits to PP if all buy new far east armies. Maybe a special discount is in order??  It would be interesting to have team "Japan" with their little tankettes (leave out the bigger tanks that were kept back in Japan) versus all comers. The allies could use the mighty Sherman as their big tank. It wld encourage some infantry to get at it. Come on Miles you kow you want to !!???

Otherwise 1943 would be Russians for me using my new scouts.

For scenery you could use the Vietnam scenery you've been contemplating! Your Russians would need adjusting for Manchuria to fight the Japanese.

You could use german equipped troops for 1941 with german weapons and MG08 or Maxim for hmg's. 2cm Flak 30/38 AAgun, 3.7 PaK 36 a/t gun, various trucks including the Morris, BA-6 A/C, BA-10 scout car, FT17, T-26, Vickers Mk E Type B.
For 1942 they be starting to wear British and American kit still using russian of german firearms, often locally made Chinese equivalents. With 75mm pack howitzer, M3A1 White Scout car, Bren carriers, M3A3 Stuart, T-26, Vickers MkE Type B. And then you have the US equipped X and Y forces all following the US organisation. Armed with M1917 rifles, Thompson SMG, M1918 BAR, M1919A6 HMG, Bazooka, 81mm mortar, 37mm AT, 75mm pack howitzer, jeeps, GMC trucks, M3 halftracks, M3A3 Stuart, M4A4 75mm sherman, M24 Chaffee.
You could also have a Red army guerrilla force Soviet equipped. Mosin-Nagant rifles, PPSh-41 SMG, Maxim HMG, 82mm mortar.

I had a very enjoyable early WW2 game with Les back in the summer at his Normandy estate with some interesting French tanks in play. Not sure the name "Char" translates very well as a fighting vehicle and brings back bad memories as I recall losing. But anyway,  yes to the Far East for next years PBI day.I have been waiting for my KNIL to come back into fashion! I have started to remodel a better version of their Overvalwagen for Chaz at QRF. I started nearly a year ago so hope to finish it this side of next Christmas.

Mine would be an Tunisia or Italian style army, as it would have to be an adaption of the figures I have at the moment. Hence I would be adding Churchill mk 111 and some earlier Sherman's to my force.
I have not got the time to create a new 14th Army style force personally, and until I 've been to the opticians difficulty in painting loads of figures.
