44 has just gone out.
At the moment the word for hammering is beaten/beat down.
Adjustment to pursuit mechanism.
track seems to be working OK.
rivers, MGs and trains  not yet sorted.

Leslie BT

hope you have a good game to night and a better handle on rivers, MGs and trains.

We did a firs ever "river" battle. Defenders (cattlemen) won. Plains Indian attackers lost!

martin goddard

River battle amendments sent out today (21st dec) Les has already hi-lighted some matters.  Will play tonight (thurs) and report back.

Did a second river battle. A lot changed in the rules from 1st iteration.  Plains Indians attacking, cattlemen defending.
Victory to attacking plains Indians.
Massive amount of casualties.
Less scenery, as Rob lost the two extra pieces.
Cattlemen lost a lot at losses part of pre-game.
Cattlemen had 1 liability which got away!
All assaults very bloody!

10 turn extension D6 seemed too high.
Stewart will give some feedback here too...

Stewart 46A

Only two river games so far, lot of changes. In my opinion defender unwise to choose river because of scenery depletions , at the moment river game favours a mounted attacker force.
10 D6 for extending the game to many, maybe reduce to 8 D6.
Many more games to get the balance correct.

Sean Clark

Could the defender be compensated with VP's to take a river if he is disadvantaged with a chance of less scenery?

Stewart 46A

Sean it's only my thoughts ( different to Martins) there are vp for holding the river crossings and now a unit can drop of two bases to do that sort of thing ( no motivation but react to shooting and assault s)
Need more people to play with a river and give their thoughts
