Ade and his son in law Dan came over for a game of PBI. Ade has played before but not Dan. A great game with US  v Germans, late war.

One question popped up regarding morale. Dan had a troop of 3 STuGs in a square. In proximity was the strong point objective which is classified as a building. He had no infantry support and lost one of the tanks to a lucky bazooka shot.

The play sheet states that one problem is an immobilized tank. I take this to include a destroyed one as well. Also, does the objective count as a building, therefore creating a second problem? The rule on objectives clearly state it is to be treated as a building.

We played it that it did causing two problems for the STuGs who then rolled 11 for their morale and routed away.

Did we get this right?

Yes I think so Sean, also if I remember correctly, no inf in support is another problem.

Sean Clark

Thanks Stewart. Sounds right.

My rulebook is back in the loft after the games weekend so can't confirm

The wording for a tank morale problem is 'immobilized ' . It doesn't mention destroyed. I'm happy with the building and no infantry support now having 're read it. The objective is a building. I am doubting myself on the rules as written now, but I am thinking a destroyed tank is as bad for morale of the remaining two tanks as an immobilized one.

Well a destroyed tank is immobilised - PERMANENTLY!

Peterloo

it would NOT cause a morale check for the other 2 tanks.
The morale effect is only on the tank hit - if it is destroyed it doesn't take morale - it's dead.
the other two unless one was hit would not need to take morale - whats the cause? - proximity to buildings, that's 1 , - the other? - if one was hit and took a Ko - then it would , Ko and proximity to buildings. but the other tank wouldn,t.
Morale for vehicles is each individual vehicle not the square.
