There are some really nice new Minairons flags that Lluis has applied to his Peter Pig ships on TMP:

These add a whole new dimension to the PP fleet (which he has nicely painted too).

Agreed Simon, they look lovely and a great paint job.

So Sean, are you thinking what I'm thinking....?

Sean Clark

I'm probably thinking that you're thinking what I'm thinking...

Sean Clark

So to be clear......what are you thinking? 😂🤣😂🤣

Exactly. Glad we cleared that one up.

Exactly. Glad we cleared that one up.

Re-reading this thread, it's struck me that it may not be crystal clear to all.

Worse, it's even possible that Sean wasn't actually thinking what he was thinking I was thinking he was thinking. Which would, of course, represent a very disappointing breakdown in communications.

For the avoidance of any further doubt, I am now thinking that it might be useful to set out what I had originally been thinking that Sean and I had both been thinking:

  • Item 1: Les gently suggests that the Pieces of Eight rules might be ripe for a refresh, and lays on a very nice-looking land battle game at last year's Weymouth games day
  • Item 2: other parts of the industry jump on the piratical bandwagon (or jolly boat): Blood and Plunder; the Blue Moon 18mm range...
  • Item 3: a number of us belatedly catch up on the very entertaining Black Sails show, based on 18th century shenanigans around Nassau
  • Item 4: the new Western game seems to be progressing very nicely (a March 2018 publication has even been mentioned) and so Martin will doubtless be considering what comes next
  • Item 5: Lluis at Minairons releases a lovely range of flags and banners (including several pirate ones) and reminds everyone on TMP just how nicely Peter Pig's pirate ships range can be painted up
In all of which, I see the hand of Fate leading inexorably towards the next set of rule-writing activity...

The norns have spoken....

From previous experience thinking for the next rule set begins a couple of months prior to the completion of the current set.  I would expect given a possible Salute release for Western that post Christmas will see the first embryonic stages of whatever comes next.

Pieces of Eight would be wonderful.

So to be clear, we were thinking the same thing!
