If your looking for info on the Indian wars you could also try the US army fighting them.
Robert M Utley Frontier Regulars. The army fighting the indians 1866 -1890.
And Fairfax Downey Indian Wars of the US army 1776-1865. The latter part of the book is with martins intended rules period. Some great accounts of lots of small actions.
