I do believe it was 10 years ago or so  we played idea and slightly different version of PBI, First World War at Warefare Newbury for the whole weekend.
I did very much enjoy playing the game, ( Personally it got me into WW1 ) now that SCW, Mexican war's and AK have all been released; and AK showed even a modern warfare game can still have infantry involved without the need for vehicles everywhere ?
I was hoping to suggest that WW1 era in PBI form otherwise when we played SB,let's say an Objective and 2-3 squares around it ? Let's play that game rather than just the whole battlefield/front ?
Martin has always said about doing PBI on a 5 x 3 table ? Here is the chance ?
Most of us that play SB have got the Genesis of forces to make up PBIWW1 ?
What I am saying could while SB is having its long awaited makeover and update, could PBI version be looked at ?
Is there a want for PBIWW1 ? Or can using SCW suffice ?
I know those that played the game at that Warfare that weekend very much enjoyed the concept ? I think the successes of SCW, Mexico and AK also the new version of PiTS have proved the idea of doing a game like this on a 5 x 3 table makes for a good game ?
SB as much as a good game concept it is ? From my own point of view is too big in game scale ? I like playing Section/Platoon/company level !
So do others agree ?
Would it be a viable game concept for Martin and us play testers to have a look at ? Or just a folly to put back to bed ?
Especially now obtaining vehicles for this era is so easy with many of the 3D printed files available.

SquareBashing is an excellent game that I think all Peter Pig regulars enjoy throughly.

Playing a PBI version of a small unit game is a good idea. I played the game at Warfare. I don't see it replacing Swuarebashing, but would make a great article for the Mill.

I'd be happy to playtest something you pull together Miles. I think the first question to answer is what is the aim of the game? What small unit actions from WW1 are you trying to replicate?

Get some ideas down for an article. I'd be interested to see what you come up with.

Yes it was good fun Miles.
PBI would work fine as it is, but I appreciate the want for a proper WW1 flavour.

For 2026 I think PITS will use most of the year and then the Napoleonic thing nearer Christmas.
Don't forget gridded WA and CWB...

Amd gridded Battles in the Age of War!

I agree Sean.
I think the samurai one is more imporant.
Then there is Robin Hood too.

As much as I love Battle in the Age of War, I think it would suit gridded games really well, along the lines of Bloody Barons.

But Robin Hood remains on my ersonal wish list. Medieval TCR seems a good start 🙂
