I think this is worthy of a  good read.

It is often tiresome to read wargamers who start a fact based conversation with "assuming the average man is 6ft....." drivel.

Then the same  wargamers find a picture of a very tall man to prove their "point". They fail to comprehend that the picture was taken because the size is so unusual.
This is common amongst "Japanese are not smaller than their US marine opponents" wargame commentators.
