Anyone know what is going on with QRF? I wanted to check on whether they have any WWI siege artillery and also fancied a unit of WWI German hussars. However there is now a filter sustem in place to reach the desired figure range. As usual one is expected to be a computer scientist to try and use this. So, I  then sent an email through their contact thingy sking how to use this system, and that doesn't work. Sometimes I wonder if people actually want to do business.

I think the most appropriate word Andy would be "flux".
They can come on here and chat if they wish.

Andy,

The QRF website is a nightmare to navigate - it was closed recently for maintenance but it hasn't improved!

There are bigger issues however; Geoff sold or passed the business to his nephew, but recently reported he has not received any royalty payments or similar and after failure to reach a settlement has taken back a lot of the moulds. He intends to restart production under GeoffQRF - he also owns the "QRF" name, but this apparently is also in dispute!

As far as I can tell he owns the FK15 ranges and only the modern ranges are left with what was QRF.

The current owner (nephew) has been reported as not being very communicative, but AFAIK, does fulfil orders if not very quickly....

I'd stay clear until the dust settles!

Thanks for the info. May go to Caliver and see if Minifigs do WWI German hussars. The advantage of QRF was that, like PP, they do dismounted and horseholders.

Leman (Andy)

Yes, Minifigs have them, so they will probably join my other Germans sometime in the next 6 months.

The original owner, Geoff, posted somewhere on facebook* that he had reclaimed some/many of the 15mm QRF ranges, mostly moderns IIRC, and they'd be available soon.

* I find it's never easy to find stuff on there, though.'Searches' are erratic and it can be near impossible to relocate a post even just a few hours after seeing it.

Leman (Andy)

Such a pity as there was some great stuff on the site which has supplemented my 15mm WWI, TYW, Italian Wars and in the past my now sold off 15mm Ancients.

Geoff has just announced that his part of QRF will now be cast and sold through the Little Corporal. Nothing on their website yet, but they've announced  on Facebook that they should be up and running by the end of September.

I suggest much caution with this company and any other that will not give a  full postal address.
Such companies do this for a cluster of reasons.

They are breaking the law deliberately and  caution should be put in place.

I hope they make their site lawful.  If they do this I wish them good luck and plenty of sales.

CAUTION.

No email address either, and a mobile phone as a contact number...

Caveat emptor is the relevant legal term here?
He might have some mats for sale though?

Mats would be good. I need some new shower curtains  ;D

"This represents a massive increase to our business's product offering, so coincides with a relocation to a new and larger premises for this expansion, as well as recruitment of staff.

There are over 650 moulds generating over 1,000 SKUs here, so release into the market will be in stages, starting at the end of this month.

In addition to being available on our website, we will also be bringing them along to shows, starting with Battleground Show and RECON at the end of this year.

This is a tremendous honour and privilege to represent these ranges, having been a personal fan of FK15 figures for many years. They are not only fantastic figures and models, but they are a foundation of hobby as we know it today"

Richard Atkin, Owner of The Little Corporal"

Sadly, WWI does not appear in that list, but as I said, Minifigs do have WWI German hussars, and, to use a recently coined phrase, I could always use PP kit-bashed dismounted figures, horseholders and heads (possibly Russian/Cossack)
