We used plenty of blockers in this week's game.
I liked the effect that had upon the game.
I want blockers to be a tactical item that players can use well or badly.

I painted up 30 blockers.
Mine are made of rectangles of plastic card fixed to a small base with a blob of milliput.
I am not sure about the economics of 3D printed ones but will look into it.
If players need 20 this is a big commitment.
A 3D version could be quite imaginative.

A quick and cheap solution might be lolly sticks. They are  cheap from craft shops. Blockers will still need to be identifiable as to which player they belong to.

I quite like the idea of a vertical sea scape.

I agree Stewart that is the sort of thing I am wanting for TCR.
