Morning all,
Im working on my first BAW clan (Hara Toratane) for a Takeda army. Per the rules, the infantry basing seems very straight forward, but I think I've confused myself regarding the cavalry and mounted hatomoto basing.

Should I be using a 30x40mm, with two cavalry figures and a foot figure? If so, what kind of foot figure would you suggest (samurai, ashigaru etc).

Thanks!

Hello Ans
Good to hear from you.
You have plenty of choices of what figures to glue on the bases.
The only warning is that it must be clear what they are.

Mounted troops a 3x4 cm base. The 3cm is the frontage so that it lines up with foot base sizes.
Either use 2 or 3 mounted figures.  OR two mounted and a foot figure.  Either of these will be fine. The presence of any mounted figures will indicate that it is a mounted unit.
Samurai horses were of course not mighty chargers/destriers but tough normal horse types.
The size of mounted figures woll prevnet thembing ina line. tey will need to be offset front to back.

Good luck with the army.
