I think an issue with looking for some balance between attacker and defender wins is that there are so many variables to consider.

No two tables are the same due to the amount of choice of scenery and the placement of it. Every army is different and even if both players have the same army, the amount of choice in how you build that army means there is many ways to play with it.

Factor in the vagaries of dice and then player ability and the combinations are endless.

I think we're right to look to balance things as much as possible, particularly in how victory points are worked out for both sides, but I think it will be nearly impossible to ensure absolute balance.

Agreed Sean.
With enough tinkering I think we can get the game right.

The two recent changes are the half and half foot deployment plus the defender now getting a vehicle unit.

JJ doesn't guarantee a vehicle unit for the defender - only in circumstances.

This last game was Exiled defending against Communist attackers. More than any bias towards attacker or defender, I'm noticing the margin of victory is typically very big in my last few games. I have had draws in the past though, so I don't think it's an issue.

PPHQ Martin and John. A very enjoyable day. Martin was the perfect host. First game was a big win for the Geriatric Republic of Lumbago (PPF). The second game was a small win for the GRL although I thought I had lost. I think AK47 is as good as done.
