May I humbly recommend American Primeval to forum members. Available  on Netflix.

Set in Utah during 1857 in involves Mormons, Plains Indians and a fight for survival. A lot of it is based on fact but very good and perfect inspiration for some Western games.

My daughter had a holiday a few years back in Nevada, California and Utah. She did some mountain walking in Utah and said it was extremely hot.
