Removing 1/2 base units

Units are removed when they are reduced to half a base. Does this apply to artillery as well? If so, artillery (1 base units) would be eliminated on a single unsaved hit.

No, artillery are treated differently, 1/2 base is a damaged battery so still has a couple of guns operational while a unit reduced to 1/2 base could represent as little as 25-50 men so would be ineffective and would probably have sloped off. That's the thinking anyway.
