Square Bashing 1915 - URGENT!

This year Battlefield Hobbies are heavily booked. Nothing available in June or most of July. At the roughly same time of year we have only two options:

Sat 31 May 2025 or Sunday 6 July 2025.

We only have a provisional tag on these dates so please give me some feedback here on availability & preferences ASAP

Thanks
Ray

It will be good, just finished my AK 47 Arabs in time. Now to start on my BEF British force Early War with Caps.
Thanks for organising this I will be there.
I will buy my ticket at the end of this month.
Any suggestions on how I should have my British organised please ? Which is the better list to use ?
I am still very much learning this set of rules ?

I'm sad to say that this is the same day as my god daughters 21st birthday party which inconveniently is a day time affair.

Colonel Kilgore

That's OK Sean.

I'm sure she'd be most welcome to join in. Someone can probably lend her an army too?

Got my Ticket now. Also had a couple of reminder games. Won one lost one.
Nice to see I ve got a seemingly balanced force ?
Just got to paint 3 more Battalions and finish off the basing.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to a very pleasant and friendly day's gaming.

Particularly to the BAD gamers who kindly loaned their scenery, and to Ray for organising us all.

Some photos from my first game, playing Chris P - my British against his Germans.

Despite things looking very good after the first few turns, I lost horribly. That's the beauty of Square Bashing!

#25
Game two saw a British incursion into China. The Brits were defending and failed to get 5 of their units on table.
However, a stiff upper lip somehow prevailed, allowing them to cling onto enough Objectives to win.

They both look like very good games. I am assuming the first game was using a lot of barrage markers. What sort of figures did you use for the Chinese? Or were they Germans in Tsingtao?

Colonel Kilgore

Bombardments of various kinds were indeed a feature of both my games!

I managed to gas myself (the same poor square, twice), but the lingering gas clouds prevented a crucial Chinese flanking manoeuvre that could have won them the battle.

I believe that some of the Chinese figures started life as Serbians, while others were Renaissance figures.

I was quite pleased with the barrage markers, made on a whim on Thursday. They're not quite finished, but will be shortly and should feature in my future games.

Great photos Simon. Thanks for sharing. An article for the Mill for the barrage markers?
