As PP do the British 4.2 inch mortar, and German and Russian 120mm Mortats are available.
If someone was to field these minor beasts ?
How would they work please ?
How much would they cost ?
I was thinking about fielding them on the Monte Cassino table later on in the year ? Possibly instead of Sherman's or Priests ?
Any thoughts

They are part of the off table HE as far as I am aware.

Possibly too big for the scale of game a PBI table represents.

Maybe do some special rules for them Miles?
It is not part of anything I am working on.

Ben used heavy mortars for the Dieppe game, and made rules to fit.

That is good Dave.
Maybe pass them straight to Miles or put them up here?

I will ask Ben to put his version up!

Dave please do ask Ben for me ?
I am just going through all HE weapons and seeing what may or may not be needed ?
From small calibre upwards.
Plus looking at alternatives at on table HE for Monte Cassino as well ?

Job done, thanks Dave.

I have asked Ben and he is happy to do it, he will also include his air assets as well.  May be a few days as he is working.

Many thanks.
I wanted to get a number of HE ideas together, that work, then put them through Martin as his Mathematical mind set can add some things we haven't thought of or overthought ? So make a simple set of rules that can be  published at a separate date that can work for everyone and hopefully cover most things that will will a 4 x 4 table and bigger ?

Miles, as a caveat, these amendments/ideas are just what Ben has come up with, for he and I to use as an extra in our own games. It may not make sense to some or sit well with those who stick to pure PBI rules, it works for us and that is what matters in our own games.

Well yes of course. But thing is to present alternatives and rules that might make the game more appealing to others ?
If I had a pound for those that say I ve got the rules but......

Many/most WW2 players  want a game with lots of tanks. PBI will never appeal to their tastes.  Not much point in worrying about them.

Historical WW2 players are rarer but are good to play against.
