Finnish raw attacking (Stewart)   British average 1944 defending (Dennis and martin).

We were going to test out the new assault rules. There were no assaults.
Our small shooting was poor. Stewart's big shooting (towed guns)  was poor.
British tank hunters killed a tank. A PIAT destroyed a tank too.

The Finnish horde was held up by  lots of British off table HE and on table mortars.
The Finns then just shot the defending Brits to pieces.
The Brits did have the better company though in terms of firepower and assets.

A very enjoyable battle.
Stewart's Finns had a big win.

Well done chaps. I must say I can't remember a game with no assaults though!

Indeed it was most unusual.
The Finns just shot off the defenders of the objectives.
On the flank , British HE pinned the Finns for two turns. The Brits were all dead before the Finn pins were properly got rid of.
The British never had enough bases to assault.

The third (flank) objective was very strange.
The Finns put 3 field guns into action to destroy it but their shooting was awful.
This flank/partial objective got backed up by an arriving British mortar platoon which held the enemy off very well indeed.

A most enjoyable game because it was in the balance  until half way through. This is a prime aim of PBI for players to have plan which needs time to come to fruition.
