Playing a lot of SCW this week at PPHQ.
I hope to get in 7 games.

A long time since I played this game but remember it being very good to look at and play.
I will be getting out Civil guard and Moroccans I think.

I find it something of a less intense version of PBI  ;)

Often very bloody, and good fun.

Wonderful. I have a Moroccan army/faction/battlegroup/warband that I painted last year and still not used  :-\

My favourite army is the Anarchist militia. I use them Raw so there is a lot of them. I don't worry too much about overcrowding a square and try to get them into dead ground for a close assault.

Colonel Kilgore

I think massed Raw militia can bring a whole new meaning to "dead ground" :)

The variety of armies and their lack of big guns is  a real attraction for me.
It may well become the skeleton for a next AK?

Looking at last years list, you said to bring the following:
16 templates consisting of:-
6 Buildings
2 woods
3 Rough Hills
2 Dead Grounds
3 Gentle Hills
Plus 8 feet of Road
Does that sound good for next Saturday?
Here is my special scenery piece for the International Brigade.
Still a long way to go.

Nice work, Miles.

We need more such SCW special building templates!

Many thanks to Martin for inviting myself to come down to Weymouth yesterday( what an horrendous journey down !)to play SCW with Stewart and Richard.
2 good games, the republicans win both games, close on the first game and quite a good win on the second.
Many thanks to Martin and his usual high standards of looking after us, especially with the weather in the morning being quite bad. Yes Weymouth bay was quite "flooded" !!!!
Roll on a week Saturday.

Very nice scenery piece Miles.
You said it was 3D printed. Maybe some more information for folk here

Sourcing information for such things is always handy.

I recognise the PP sandbagged watch tower, but what about the telegraph poles?

I got the station building off EBay, meant to have been El Alamein Station, but I found out that it wasn't right. So then bought another one which is a lot more correct. This will be done in the next few months, similar to this one.
The tower has been pointed out as the PP Vietnam watch tower. The track is TT track superglued down then a while box of Miliput put down originally around the track then continued over the rest of the template. This was stippled with an old toothbrush.
The level crossing is the good old MacDonalds stirring sticks cut down to fit.
The telegraph poles are Aluminium tubes with some actual telegraph poles put into them, as they were made out of a very soft metal; these were picked up from a bring and buy years ago. Other bits were made up of odd bits of scrap and covered with green stuff.
The road has been covered with paint on the road and fine sand sprinkled on top, allowed to dry and lightly repainted.
Then of course everything will get a coat of paint, layers of brown and black washes and dry brushing added for effect.
Hope this helps ?
The other one with the "proper" El Alamein will look similar, but will have a PP water tank instead of the guard tower. So this can be used for Western thru to Africa? 1860's thru to modern day.

Very nice job, in your usual style, Miles.

I do like the orangey clumps in the mix of foliage.

The rail maintenance guys have already presumably been shot for leaving the ballast in such an overgrown condition?
