I am going to produce a couple of historical battles laid out for CK.
More soon(?)

The idea is to make them standard CK games with a bit of scenario change without making it all very complex.

Once I have done this maybe others might want to do some as well.

Colonel Kilgore

This is a grand idea, Martin!

I am going to do battle which are not that famous.
This gives players a chance to play the battle and then see the historical outcome.
Unless they are very tempted.
The battles will be squeezed into a CK format so that a standard table and army can be mostly used.

First battle will be 89BC  River Amnias
Pontic defender  Bythinian attacker.

I will be ready just after Christmas.

Colonel Kilgore

A nice idea. We can all learn stuff about some more obscure battles.

They are going to be great fun.
It seems a constant that many generals make a run for it as the battle turns against them or sometimes even before

It looks like it's going to be an interesting fight. A real test of two very different forces.

martin goddard

Let me know if you get to fight it. I am getting the crew together to give it a try in January 2024  if they are up for it?

Love the Portuguese part 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😎. What a clever way to delay the reader from 'just taking a peek....'!

John Watson

Did the Portuguese win the battle? Why is there no Portuguese army list for C & K?

This sounds like a great idea Martin. I am going to give 43AD a go with my current crop of Romans and Briton, after Christmas day and hence Christmas dinner is out of the way. It will be a very underscaled game as the introductory pack from WoFun does not make 300 point armies but it will give me a chance to try out some of the systems. I will bulk them out in the New Year, and then have a look at some of the historical battles, such as Medway and those involving the Iceni.

martin goddard

Don't worry caps the next one might in Gaelic?

martin ???

Colonel Kilgore

I'm disappointed it wasn't written in Pontic Greek or some form of ancient Turkish. Are your standards slipping, Martin?

Here is the second battle.
Mount Haemus.
Alexander takes on the Thracians.
