If you ever buy another PP army what might it be?
I am thinking of ones we already make rather than a deepest desire.

I am considering a non-conformist company for PBI.
Partisans or maybe Parisians? Both fearless and dangerous (but with a certain je ne sais quoi ?

Moggy

Not a complete Army but going to need more AWI Continentals in the near future. Got plenty of Militia and Indians now....... according to John too many!.

Derek

Stewart 46A

Having a non conformist army (volkstrum ) I would buy 14th army , only Peter Pig PBI Army I don't own

Stewart

John Watson

I had two non conformist armies (Greek and Partisan) until Martin changed the rules. Now the Partisans conform, but I still have the Greeks.
The next army to buy could be Macedonian (if I can find a suitable brush head) or US Marines WW2.

Basically Sean, any army beginning with C (or S)?

Colonel Kilgore

I already have a bunch of PP armies awaiting their turn for some paint.

If I were to buy a whole new one, I'd be tempted by the Macedonians, which have grown considerably from their "just a couple of packs" start.

Mine is likely to be 1940 Dutch and some opposing Germans, although at some point I will need to replace my lost ACW train.

I really should paint some SCW armies for B&I. I have the figures for at least 4 armies in a box in the loft. It will be a big project to concentrate  on, could be the much needed distraction from "real life" I need.

I will also have to make some suitable terrain, mostly buildings (I have a lovely HO european engine shed kit that will make a two square area factory) and olive groves. I do have a suitable Geek Villain "Sicily" mat.

Best wishes,
Martin Buck

Colonel Kilgore

You should do it, Martin!

The armies are relatively small, and a lot of the vehicles and guns can be used in multiple forces.

I painted a "minimal" Italian CTV force this year. While I have a lot more figures and vehicles to do in due course, my core troops got on a table and have had a fight.

I agree with Simon...they are quite a quick project once you get going. Though scratch building buildings would take longer.

I ought to treat myself to a Sicily mat. They are ideal for Spain and Mexico...

martin goddard

That Sicily mat is a great all rounder. I have 3.  The Flames of war double sided mat is also very good as it is a "not quite desert" colour.

Moggy

Sorry Martin.

I've been in quite a few different deserts and can catagoricaly say there is no actual desert colour. Even different parts of the same desert are quite different in both colour and nature of sand/rock.

Think my favourite is around Aden in What is now Yemen. Wonderful fine yellow sand that stretches all the way north to the Radfan mountains. Second place has to go to Death Valley, almost white and like powder.

All good fun unless you are trying to keep machinery going then its all a right pain in the **s!

OK Derek.
Thanks; I stand corrected.
How might we describe such mats?
