Unfortunately I ve got a big lack of Americans and a big shelf of British stuff so Utah is a little bit ambitious!
If I play early 80's Pink Floyd that would give me the atmosphere for Anzio ?
Yes Martin could be workable ?
What do the others think ?

I can do both days.

The beaches are what everyone associates with D Day.  But could do something inland in the bocage as well - Hill 112?

Or Pegasus Bridge of course.  Then I'll have to buy some Airborne from Martin.

I have painted already PBI companies of late war Germans, British, Americans, Red Berets, 101st Airborne and Soviets if needed.

I think Gold Beach a repeat of what we done before would be best.
A we still have a lot of the materials, troops, tanks and landing craft.
Putting the scenery together is our biggest task, but isn't a great problem ?
We never put the Full game on at Beachhead, we only every done half a table.
Saturday we have the potential for quite a few of us playing the game ?
We do need it for next June as well.

But as a slight sideline. For showing off PBI and keeping 1944, could we possibly work on a "Kelly's Heroes" for taking the bank ? Bank, Barracks and either the church or a Road junction out of town (to get the gold out) as the objectives and on a 4 x 4 table.
I ve got the 3 Tigers ! Definitely could put together enough buildings to represent a French village/town  towards the German border ? Rather than a Yugoslavian/Mediterranean village/town ?
Obviously the forces would be as they normally would be in a PBI game, but if we do it right people would recognise it the game subject and forces ?
Would be more realistic battle ?
This we could have at some other shows for next year ?
Anyone got a US matching Band ? LoL

There are 8 months to go chaps.
This gives lots of time for discussion.
I don't think that Peter at Entoyment has started doing bookings for the show yet either.
I assume there will be a show?

There does seem to be a big swirl of ideas here at the moment. This might be a good or a bad thing.

Just to nail things down a bit I wil put a flag in the ground.
I will be doing Vietnam on Sunday (my only day).
This might be 1, 2 or 3 games of Vietnam.
I don't think there will be a Peter Pig trade stand. I cannot afford the monetary loss.

Martin - there will be a 2024 show, and it will be "bigger than mega"!

From: https://entoyment.co.uk/product-category/tickets-vouchers/beachhead-2023-tickets/

"Traders, Tournaments, Participation games, Demonstration games, Cosplay, RPG and much much more! Beachhead 2023 was mega, 2024 is going to be even bigger.

Beachhead 2024 is on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February 2024
There is something for the gamer or hobbyist in everyone at Beachhead 2024!"

I will be at the show Saturday and Sunday.
I will definitely being be doing PBI Saturday and most likely Sunday.
If by demand ? Then it will probably be DDay. It will be 1944 themed.
So who is helping me ?
Miles

Colonel Kilgore

I'll help you on the Saturday, Miles.

Of course, when I say "help", I mean logistically.

On the table, I will of course be trying to "help" your invading Allies to clear my nice tidy beach and get back into their boats from whence they came :)

I plan to be at Beachhead on both days and will throw my hat in with Miles and Simon for the D-Day game.  Not sure which of my hats....
Stewart has some very nice Atlantic Wall defences and beach obstacles. He also has a ready made set of PBI based beach landing rules. I have a German and a British company.
We need to agree the size of game that is feasible with the people we have and to put it together and be there on the 2 days.

4 players (nominal) on a 6' x 4' table?

Scenery and forces to suit?

I found with the Crete games that 2 x standard PBI companies per side work well on a 6' x 4', just as long as not everyone turns up at once!

Well the las time we done the game it was 8 x 6 .
I know Colin was thinking foam board for the underneath with cloth on top.
As the MDF was way too heavy and tiresome to carry.
4-6 people is a good number a couple more on the Saturday gives everyone a chance to go off and do some shopping ?
Like I said before the main thing we will be concentrating on is getting the table together, as most of the other bits are around and available.
