Fighting with Egyptians

The Egyptians can have quite a large army.
Thsi is partially due to the lack of armour and the cost of chariots.

Chariots
They are as mobile as cavalry and can thus  assault really on in the game. There could be enough chariots to make two attaching zones and catch an opponent in the flank and front simultaneously. That does rely on them having advanced out of their line.  Maybe tempt them out with a "can't resist"  target.

Although chariots can shoot they always suffer badly when in contact with shooty zones.

Close order infantry are an excellent idea for the Egyptians.
1 Close order bow
1 close order veteran spear
1 close order spear unarmoured
1 foot skirmisher

This will lose them 1D6 in a fight but gives 6D6 for shooting.
Egyptians can afford 3 such zones which is a lot.

A zone full of 3 close order bowmen can be scary (14 D6 with skirmishers) for an opponent who cannot return fire effectively. Such a zone would need to be on a  hill to feel even a bit secure v assault.

The swarm of skirmishers that the Egyptians have can be used to seize flank zones from an opponent with fewer units.

Two units of shieldless bow auxiliaries are super cheap flank takers or rear supports.

Added to all this ,the Egyptians look great in their light colours and acres of flesh.

Army to suit above comments
5 chariot units (4 veteran)
4 Close order bow units
3 Close order spear units
4 Auxiliary bow units
9 foot skirmish units

=16 "proper" units

299 points
Make 1 spear unit shock and be 2 points over.
