I've recently come upon a small collection of 1:600 scale Age of Sail ships belonging to the Oak & Iron range of Firelock Games, and ou of curiosity I've given a try to one of them - a merchant flute. Oak & Iron ships are made of injected styrene plastic and come in just the strictly necessary parts: hulk and masts/sails, just as PP ones. Assembly is pretty straightforwarded and parts do generally fit well, although previous joint testings are advisable, just for case.

Despite nominally belonging to different scales, it seems to me that Oak & Iron ships are mostly compatible with those of Peter Pig, as you can see below:

You'd have trouble getting a tune out of that flute Lluis!
Looks very good.

Lovely painting.

I do still rather prefer the finer detail on the PP models though :)

The Oak & Iron range paint up really well with GW Contrast paints. You can see that from the deck from above here:

I have a good collection of them. Here is. another pic:

The game is not bad either. It gives a fun and different naval game. We have had fun with it. Good to know the scale match with PP ships. I eventually plan to try some PofE naval games with my ships.
