I've seen a fair bit written on dead body markers and half bases.  In WAM all I can see are the need for a dead body marker for a whole base... is this different to the rest of the rules as half bases aren't needed?

Dead markers can be any size as it is the quantity per square that matters rather than the location.
Morale tests usually start with "How many casualty markers in the square" rather than asking who they belong to.

Most RFCM rules allow units to die by the hlaf base in order to provide more steps. Especially when units only have 3 full bases to start with. :)

Half bases allow the unit perimeter to not change as a half base dies and is replaced by a dead
Some players use a marker to drop onto a base to indicate that it is "half dead". Then a casualty just placed nearby.

I've been making a few half base casualties, I used some Alternative Armies Goblins and cut them up and bent them into suitable shapes to represent Orc/Goblin dead.
