... are even better in the flesh. I collected mine yesterday and they are stunning little figures.

I'll  add these to my Weekender order.

I am busy compiling a birthday order. 70 deserves something special, and those little guys will fit the bill.

Are they smaller than the old models? The new commanders and infantry are smaller the old models and cannot be mixed. very disappointing.

Indeed they are slimmer, albeit the same height.
My sculpting style has changed a little over the years, sorry.
I mix them all in the ramies I play with.

Can not be mixed is a very definite  statement.  I have some of these figures amd have mixed them without loss of enjoyment.

But like the 'Not my King' types, we are all allowed an opinion.  :)

Happy gaming. 😊

I am definitely of the all people are not the same size school of thought. I happily mix old and new PP, Ancient and Modern Miniatures, Essex, Irregular and a few Minifigs into my WotR armies. Indeed the current unit of Welsh spears I am working on is a mix of Irregular and Essex. Also, it should be borne in mind that as sculptors develop their skills their figure style is likely to change. The Perry figures for Wargames Foundry WotR are smaller than their current range. Similarly their latest foray into the FPW has resulted in slightly bigger figures than their current WotR range, and veritable giants compared to their Foundry FPW range, but I have seen those happily mixed in armies on the web, although admittedly in discrete units. As a reminder, here is my Duke of York command base again:

Front three figures are new Peter Pig, armoured figure with halberd is old Peter Pig, standard bearer in gambeson is Ancient and Modern. I would suggest that at wargamers distance these figures do not look disappointing together.

Andy,

I would suggest that even at the magnification of your photo, these figures do not look disappointing together  ;)

What is the antonym of disappointing?

Examples are:

satisfied delighted fulfilled pleased content contented happy cheerful comforted heartened thankful gruntled blissful

Colonel Kilgore

I found online the antonym: "awesomazing". It might not be a proper word, but I think I like it  ;)

We'll  all be using it next week Simon.  You just need to get onto TokTik to make it viral.
