A gift from god, or the spawn of Satan?

And if a positive, would a Piggie themed one interest you? I'm  not selling but may have sourced a creator.

I think they can be a good idea, although I have to confess to using mine to hold my dice, which I then actually roll on the table.

I have a couple made from gaming cloth material, with poppers at the corners. They look a bit like a 4-cornered hat, as Stewart always teases me.

What sort of manufacture do you have in mind, Sean? I've often thought that a Piggy dice tray might be nice.

I have one of those aluminium boxes and a couple of "hat"like ones. A Piggy one would be of interest.

Hi Sean
May be interested depends on size/design etc and like Simon would use it to hold die not in use

May i suggest no more than 15mm deep.
Then both players can see the D6 rather than peering into the wishing well?
I saw some really shallow plant tray rectangular plastic bases. ideal.
Will try to find a picture.

I'll  see what the chap comes back with.

Yes I would be interested too, I do have an aluminium KR one. But I can always change.

Your KR one is perfect Miles.
It has padding and a shallow depth.
That might be a good template for a new design??

I have found the dice often jump out of the dice tray, and it can also have too large a footprint on some tables. Nowadays I find a good sized dice shaker to be more useful. Give the dice a good shake then turn th shaker directly onto the table. Lift the shaker to reveal the dice scores. If you knock the dice while raising the shaker, then such is fate and that is your score. This method prevents runaway dice landing on the floor or, worse, damaging figures and terrain.

Not sure how well a dice shaker will work when you have 20+ dice lol. Maybe you should do some work developing an ideal size and maximum number of dice that work.

;D

How about a Peter Pig dice tower?

Make it a PP Ice Bucket. Could always use it as long as the heat lasts. lol

I like this topic and insist on veering it away. :-[

This is the one that Miles showed me.  It is 23 x 15.5 cms
It breaks into two parts.

My own one is very superior as I have levelled it up.
I might do a mill article.

I cut some wood with a  saw.
I then glued the wood onto the box.
The elevation helps players get the dice in the tray.
It also stops items falling into or across the tray.

Genius :) ???

Very clever, Martin. But a little hard to fold up and put in  your pocket?  :D
