So going thru the list of figures and bases required ? This is the extreme figure count.
Generals 3 bases. Minimum of 9 figures ?
9 x 2 groups of Hand Gunners, 18 Hand gunners required?
Levy foot up to 10 units. 40 bases. 10 being command. 30 being fighting bases. Split between bill/spear and firing bases ? 10 x officer 30 figures? 30 x fighting 90 figures?
Retinue foot up to 10 units. 40 bases. 10 being command/officer 30 figures ? 30 x fighting/firing 90 figures?
Household foot 3 units. 12 bases. 3 being command/officer 9 figures? 9 being fighting/firing 30 figures?
I am assuming up to 4 Cavalry units 2 each of Retinue and Household 4 bases per unit. One command and 3 fighting, minimum of 8 horses per unit ?
Hopefully l've got that correct ?
Any others needed for up grades etc ?
Personally I ve got a quite large V1 army so most of this is already painted, just a case of splitting them up correctly. I will have to do a load more Command bases, so this I think will be my biggest spend will be ?
Half bases one per unit ?
How many Casualty bases are needed at one time ? I ve got 10.

Mile the Handgunners are single bases of 1 figure each so a max of 9 figures required. I mount mine on 1p coins.

As for the infantry I did levy units as peasants so they are simple. Retinue and household could be the same figures with a change of command base to signify them. It may work out a lot cheaper that way.

You also don't need to have specific bow armed bases as ALL bases shoot.

I would add another half a dozen casualties and have about 16 half bases. I think that would be fine.

I've only ever seen three cavalry units used.

Derek I ve got quite a few figures, which are painted up already. In Levy, Retinue, Household and Body Guards as well as General figures. As I have got a Full V1 Lancastrian Army already. So I don't have to scrimp my way thru to make a V2 army. But thanks anyway.
John only mentioned about the Cavalry as it says 2 units for both Household and Retinue and like you say you then use the best 3 units from that choice ? How many points you have left ?
I don't have to do any "Low on Arrows" as I ve actually got 9 of those already done.
I ve only got another 6 Casualty bases to do as 16 seems to be a number mentioned on here a lot.
But a load of Half replacement bases to do though, which isn't quite so bad.
I will need to do a few more Command bases and at least one or two General/King bases.
Then I need to buy some Manoeuvre templates for my Army too.

Here is my painted force that I have. I ve roughly put them into 3-4 base units, as I am still short of a number of command bases as you can see.  But at least I can rectify the shortages without having to go too crazy !
Now back to the PP website, I had better buy some more figures ?

I ve gone with:
Levy 2 Shooting bases, 1 Fighting/Bill base and an Command base.
Retinue 2 Fighting/Bill bases, a Shooting base and an Command base.
Household 1 Fighting/Bill base, a Proper Fighting base (using the Body Guard bases )Shooting base and an Command base.
This isn't a absolute list, but something I can "run" with as an Organisation of Units.

They look great. Really cool looking army. The 30 x 30 basing is nice as well.

Thanks some of it looks a bit different now. As I worked out that I had more infantry bases than I needed. Even doing extreme units. Of 10 Levy. 10 Retinue. 5 Household. So I ve Generated 20 odd Half Base figures.
Martin has given me some advise on Command bases etc, thank you.
Hopefully in the next few months I can play the game again with my own figures.

Great job on those armies chaps. I shall be reorganising mine soon for the PP historical scenarios.
