Recently I added some damaged artillery markers to my First World War collection.

They can be used as markers on their own or combined with MDF "damaged" markers.

The German artillery came in a pack of three pieces, bought with few samples from Lancashire Games when I was keen to do a Middle East project. This was before Martin agreed to add Ottoman Turks into the Peter Pig range. Although relative inexpensive, the Lancashire castings were incompatible in size with my Peter Pig & Miniature Figurines. Also the field guns did not really cut the mustard in comparison. So I got busy with pliers and cutters to distress them.

The British Artillery were from a few spare guns and components left over from a 1914 project. The gunners are Miniature Figurines figures. I replaced the heads with some from the Peter Pig bandaged head pack, code 6/115.

The shell cases were from chopped-up cocktail sticks but in retrospect it would have been better if I'd have used thin brass tube.

I was quite pleased that the gunners figures were in shirt sleeves as the end result was reflective of the well know illustrations of the RHA battery at Nery in 1914.

Ah, OK I need to do some more shell casings!

Another excellent idea which I shall shamelessly take on board.

Another very nice one Ray!

That German artillery certainly does look distressed...
