What next?

At the heart of this comment lies how you see Peter Pig products. Are the rules and figures a job lot that are inextricably bound together or does PP produce 15mm figures and rules that happen to be compatible? The rules and figures each stand as being useful in their own right. What follows is just an idea as to what Martin could do next. It concentrates on the latter set-up although this may not rule out the premier set-up.

How about the production of packs that will expand on the use of existing packs? For example:

30 Years War figures that will be useful with the ECW range. (e.g. Croats.)
Irish figures that would expand the ECW into Ireland.
6 Commando or Simba that could be used with a lot of the AK47 range.

"Odd Napoleonics" are a sort of sideways look at this.

I'm sure other group members have their own ideas,

The big advantage is that Martin would get a bit of "play time" as no "range" would be big.

Comments welcome – especially from Mr Pig himself.

I'm more of a modeller than gamer, partly by temperament and partly through necessity. I therefore came to Peter Pig primarily for the breadth and scope of the ranges on offer. I was particularly drawn to the eC20 ranges since I was embarking on RCW back then. It is only more recently that Martin has managed to tempt me into two entirely new periods by virtue of the figures on offer alone.
In a hobby as diverse as this it would be impossible to cater for everyone. Just like the railway modelling hobby years ago, gamers used to resort to using scraps, pins, plasticine and banana oil and later sculpting media like Milliput and green stuff to convert figures into what they wanted from the limited figures on offer. Today we have a wealth of choice (and quality) with many firms competing for our cash as the hobby itself evolves.
I'm sure that whatever emerges next from PP HQ will be great though and I will be watching...

Hello Martyn
All ideas gratefully received.  Keep them coming.
No promises of course.

Martin,

Bankinista = Derek. There seem to be lots of Dereks although maybe not as many as Martins! Anyway, that's why I've swapped sign offs. "No promises" is fully understood. I just hoped with all the possibilities (Suggestions!) there might be something that you thought would be interesting to try.

Personally I have been scouting about (s'cuse the pun) for other mid to late C15 figures... suitable variants of light to medium cavalry, or mounted crossbowmen/archers to act as scurrers/hobilars/coustilliers to expand the WoTR range into more general European warfare of the period. These more varied troops tend to have ancillary/peripheral roles to the main fighting but were nevertheless often part of larger formations and are represented in other rules/games.
Having witnessed the late (great) John Waller of HEMA fame demonstrating the use of the longbow from horseback I can attest to its effectiveness in hunting and pursuit...

Hi, new here, but Martin knows me; not in the Biblical sense, but rather I contributed a short article on Technicals for AK47 games.

Anyhoo, what I want to ask/suggest/wish for is a HEMTT PLS; Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck Palletized Load System.

M1074A1 came into service circa 1990, which is perfect for AK47.
