As referred to in the MOuLD post I am working on new Bloody Barons packs.
It will not be a total re make of the range but rather replace/expand.

This means that particular packs will be replaced by two or more packs.
e.g Levy fighting troops will be replaced by three packs of levy fighting . These being standing, advancing and fighting.

Existing packs that are replaced will stay in production for a period determined by sales.
The moulds will not be destroyed.
Sales = how many of the old packs are bought after a replacement pack is released. I expect the sales of the old packs to "fade".

As a rough guide, I am thinking of replacing about 9 packs with multiples (see how that goes????).
BB must be the first range with 1 piece cavalry castings?

The first 3 packs of levy billmen will be out next week .......I think

This is good news Martin.

Everyone with "old" billmen (so last decade...) will immediately have to upgrade to the new models or risk the opprobrium of their gaming mates. They may even wish to use different figures within the same unit at different phases of the game, depending on what action their little men are engaged in? Some good marketing thinking going on here, I see ;)

You are right Simon.
How shall I spend the extra money?

Maybe invest in some more green stuff and pewter alloy? We don't want you jetting off to some tax haven in the sun...

I too am looking forward to seeing these. I didn't have as much as I thought I had. I would like to produce more four base units with bowmen in the front and standing bill behind. This is because I was watching a History Hit video about Agincourt. According to the longbow expert, the mass of arcing arrows was a concept invented by Larry Olivier. Apparently medieval longbowmen fired directly at the enemy at relatively short range and as rapidly as possible to attempt to produce a continuous pounding against the armour. Of course some would penetrate, wounding or killing the enemy soldier but most would thump and bounce off. This would assist in tiring the approaching enemy. It's a neat idea, backed up by medieval paintings which mostly show archers firing straight ahead, except in sieges. The army at Agincourt had 7,500 archers and only 1,500 men-at-arms. The archer was also expected to take an equal part in the hand-to-hand combat. This makes the new basing system in BB2 a very sound concept.

That is good insight, Andy, thank you for sharing.

I have cunningly only bought half of the WOTR troops I will "need" for two opposing forces, so Martin's latest initiative will be speaking directly to my wallet :)

Having re-organised my WotR figures I have kept those figures I liked from the previous armies (Feudal castings, old Front Rank 15mm, Essex) and these are probably enough for one army. The PP figures I bought in the last 2 years are certainly enough for another army and so I don't really need any more. I have Yorkist and Lancastrian, but I don't have Tudor. Oh dear, I'll have to buy some more figures. Thank goodness Martin is bringing out some new ones. All done Martin.

Now how about using Poppy, one of the dog miniatures and a rat for a little diorama to accompany Richard III - the cat, the rat and Lovell our dog!

I'd be interested to know if Martin is planning some archers nocking arrows or open handed having just loosed?... it would also reinforce this new direct 'fire at will' principle (who'd want to be called William or Guillaume in the Middle Ages!?) and steer away visually from the massed volley fire look...

I'm still considering a minor Jersey bust up with the valiant local Militia and loyal Yorkist Seigneurs vs invading French compagnies d'ordonnance... and some pro-Lancastrian/French Seigneurs...
