Tidying up the rules

I sent some stuff to Martin the other day which sparked him to tidying the rules up a little.

Rather than repeat the exercise I thought it might be a good place for anything else noticed to be mentioned (NICELY).

To start off.  There are a few mentions in the army list of Lance.  It costs nothing extra and isn't mentioned in the fighting section anywhere I can find.  Likewise there are many mentions of spear and even a hoplite but these don't affect anything in the game.

Can it be removed unless they are specifically there to add colour.

Did you also figure out the stuff about Elite and veteran units. Apart from having a higher cost the only difference I can see is they give a -1 to the dice on morale the same as if a veteran is present. I suppose if you have a veteran AND an Elite present it gives you a -2.

I think  I would prefer to have a modifier for support from another zone and do away with Elites if they don't give any further benefit or effect to the game. Its one less variable to think about.
