Another cool "what if" Confederate ironclad... CSS Wilmington. burned before completion but we can bring her to life in our game... model is a 1/600 modified 3D print form Brown water navy on shapeways. I added the gun port shutters and cannons.

Wilmington was designed by the Chief Naval Constructor, John L. Porter, as a replacement for the rotten ironclad CSS North Carolina and the wrecked ironclad CSS Raleigh for the defenses of the Cape Fear River in North Carolina in 1864. Unlike those ships, Wilmington may have been designed to force engagements on the Union blockaders as her sleek lines and powerful propulsion machinery suggest something more than a defensive role.[1]

The ship had an overall length of 223 feet 4 inches (68.1 m), a beam of 41 feet (12.5 m) and a draft of 9 feet 6 inches (2.9 m). Her depth of hold was 12 feet (3.7 m), but no tonnage or displacement figures are available as Wilmington was destroyed before she could be launched. The ship was fitted with two small pilot houses, one each fore and aft of the casemates, that were shaped like truncated pyramids.

The lighting makes her look tan but she's really a light to medium gray. I'm thinking of repainting her a bit and darkening the iron armored parts.

Also hey Peter Pig; I think this ship would make a cool addition on to your ACW naval collection.  ;)

A very interesting ship Jerry.
The variety of ACW ships really makes the game more  enjoyable.
The Ozark should be out this week at PP.

Must admit in most of my games I field my USS Ozark that I made as it has a lot of capability, in all directions. But it also gets sunk the most as well !
I took on CSS Virginia with it the other day, came out the worst for wear. But she do a lot of damage ! The Virginia sunk in the "Aftermath " of the game.
Must admit Brown Water Navy have a lot of interesting ships, especially now that thoroughbred models may or may not be trading ?
Even from my own point of view you can only scratch build so many of ships at any one time ?
So I think worth investing in some of them.
