Hi guys,

I've just started playing Square Bashing & have a rules question. French QF artillery costs extra points (18 vs 15) but I can't see any benefit they have under the rules. The Army Book refers readers to the main rules but I can't find anything further in there.
Do they throw extra dice or perhaps need a 5 or 6 to hit instead of a 6? Or is the Euro/£ exchange rate just poor and they simply cost more?  ;)
Thanks for your help, Terry

[Update]: I appreciate your quick responses chaps; an extra die does make sense.
I have just scanned the rule book again but still can't find it stated in there. Perhaps it was in the first edition but never copied over into the later edition. Still, doesn't matter as I am happy to go with your suggestion. Cheers!

I don't have the book, nor can I remember where it is, but yes, the soixante quinze have a bonus in firing. It's there somewhere!

Sean is right, if you pay the extra for the French guns you get an extra dice per gun each time it shoots, so 4 dice rather than the usual 3.

Now, the Belgians also used some of those as well, so presumably the same applies for them.

If they pay the extra points for them yes!

Page 21, Army Book, three line up form the base of the page.

I checked that in my pdf copies of both books. In the Army Book it is the Bulgarian Army and in the rule book it is Countdown to Battle  :-\

*.pdf's are great for word searching for particular entries.

Thus I take it that the pdf page numbers do not correspond to the printed books. Am I right in this? Otherwise I do not understand the reply.

There are often page differences between the pdf and print copies.
This is because every extra page costs money in print. Therefore all space is used.
In pdf we have the luxury of putting in page breaks to make the text nice and easy to locate.

martin :)

Thanks Martin, I had no idea that was the case.
