A portable heresy

Greetings to all! First post in this great forum and already a travesty (no minis), but fun and very portable for vacations away from the table.

If you own Undaunted: Normandy and some ASL counters, you can play a game of Square Bashing 1st edition on a 40x40 cm table.

Use a 4x4 grid and 700 point armies + 100 points of assets (barrages, fortifications, off-board tanks, etc.) Why first edition? Well, it's a great ruleset, IMHO very influential, and it requires less tiles (16 out of the 18 in the boardgame). Just use terrain marked with a 3 as close terrain. If you want to add some WWII flavor, tanks can move two spaces if they dice 3,4,5,6 in the first and 4,5,6 in the second.

First of all, welcome to forum!

What a great idea. I was gifted a huge amount of Advanced Squad Leader earlier this year amd have more counters than I know what to do with. A portable game of PBI would be very easy using these - maybe whilst on holisay, or visiting the mother in law.

I shall investigate some more!
