This collection has been around 5 years in the making. Over that time I've added a couple of ships to any orders I've made. Finally they're all painted ready to sail the seven seas, yarrhh!

Need to gloss the bases, and add a few flags here and there.

Lluis of Minairons

Wow, you've emptied up all shipyards in a thousand miles around!

Seriously though, I love the way you've painted them. Congratulations :)

Coming from yourself, Lluis, that is high praise indeed!

Not much in the way of deck crew. I suspose I could add some more. And I do want to add flags. I'm going to now enjoy naming each ship.

sean, bring them to the weekend, the plan is for me to run a game on Saturday

Please do it. I also do name my ships, at least those with fixed flags, that invariably belong to my early 18th cent. Austro-catalan fleet. Some are bearing historical names (such as my Sta. Eulàlia, Sta. Madrona and St. Francesc de Paula frigates), but I also enjoy inventing names for hypothetical ships such as the xebecs range I've recently started, that are going to bear shark related names: Marraix (=porbeagle), Tintorera (=blue shark), Solraig (=mackerel shark), Escorçana (=ray), and so on.

Naming your ships is a lot of added fun, because since that very moment they seem to acquire a personality of their own - so that soon you'll find yourself seeking or inventing their captains' names too, customizing each of them and in the end bringing them to life :)

(am I being too imaginative?)

Smoking gun

I named mine Black + animal e.g. Black Sheep, Black Pig, etc.

Best wishes,
Martin Buck
