Although not one of the groups better painters, I still enjoy showing off my work, if for no other reason than to encourage others that painting isn't so hard! White undercoat (whoever thought of black undercoat?!) and thin paints followed by a suitable wash.

Anyway, enough caveats! These is the new horseholder in kepi.

Colonel Kilgore

They look mighty fine to me, Sean - very nice!

They'll stand muster on the wargames mat, Sean. I think black works on simple uniforms, and is a definite yes for armour. It's also great for those of us who might miss a deeper incision in a figure.

Sean Clark

Agreed Andy. Though I'm finding a wash with an ink will hit spots you miss.

Agree with the previous comments : really nice work.
I particularly like the colours you used : this base is full of contrasts ! I like it !

Don't tell him, but Les BT influenced my decision to change  ;D

White makes it so easy to colour with washes and be able to leave the white star on the forehead and even white socks.

John Watson

Very effective Sean. I always use a white undercoat, then block colours, a wash and a varnish.

It does, John. I've tinkered for years with painting styles, and change all the time. But I'm happy with this one for now.
